Paul Krugman said to some extent we are hurt by Chinese growth since we compete for limited supplies of oil, minerals, etc. The U.S. needs to give China more of a voice in trade policy because the alternative is much less appealing.
China is the largest polluter in the world, and most of its electricity comes from coal. Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency says the average American has a much larger carbon footprint than the average Chinese.
China is not obligated to cut greenhouse gas emissions because it was considered a developing economy when the Kyoto Protocol was written in the 1990s.
